CATCH Academy Logo

CATCH Academy or Community Approach to Careers in Health is a longitudinal exploration for high school students during their sophomore/junior years of high school. The Academy begins with a week long intensive program of introduction into health careers and leadership training on the UTHSCSA campus. Students are exposed to the Allied Health careers by faculty and currently enrolled Allied Health students. Additionally, each student group is required to select a community project that promotes health and wellness throughout their home campuses as well as establish a Health Careers Club in their school to promote health professions as careers. Sponsored by the South Central AHEC and assisted by the School of Allied Health Sciences, the CATCH Academy has been in place since the summer of 2005.
